Retired, Senior Director of Information Technology with MCI WorldCom
TCC Degree: Computer Science
Jackie had a lengthy career in Information Technology. She credits Tulsa Junior College, now Tulsa Community College, with providing a strong foundation for that work. “TJC’s Computer Science curriculum launched my 30-year career in Information Technology and prepared me for numerous executive management positions,” said Jackie. After graduating from TJC with an associate degree in Computer Science, she went on to earn a bachelor’s degree in Finance.
Chosen out of 6,000 IT employees, Jackie served on a six-person task force for the WorldCom/MCI merger. In 1995, she was recognized as one of the Top 100 Women in Information Technology from IT World.
In addition to her career, Jackie has been an active community volunteer with the Tulsa Ballet and the Alzheimer’s Association, Oklahoma and Arkansas Chapters. She served as the Tulsa Ballet Board President and chaired a $17.3 million Tulsa Ballet integrated fundraising campaign, doubling the goal of the campaign. She also chaired the Governance/Nominating Committee on Oklahoma Arts Institute Board and was on the National Board of the Alzheimer’s Association. Currently, she is board chair of the Alzheimer’s Association, California Southland Chapter.
Her honors and recognitions include Tulsa’s Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser Award by the Association of Fundraising Professionals, Leadership Tulsa’s Paragon award winner for outstanding vision, commitment and talent, and the Harwelden Liddy Doenges Individual Award for significant contributions to the cultural life of Tulsa. Plus, in 2011 she was recognized as one of the Best of TCC Distinguished Alumni.
